## About Doc File Locker

Doc File Locker puts a password on your Word documents, and now it can make a separate locked copy for each person you share one with.

## A copy for each person

Choose a document, then add the people you are sending it to. Each one gets their own copy, saved as the document's name followed by theirs. Lock them all with one click.

## Their own password

Every copy gets its own password, made of four easy words and two digits, so it is simple to read out or type from a note. Copy one, or copy every name and password at once for your records. The clipboard clears itself afterward.

## Their name on every page

Turn on Name on every page and each copy carries a faint "Prepared for" watermark with that person's name. If a copy turns up where it should not, you know whose it was.

## Choose what they can change

Set the copies to read only, comments only, tracked changes only or fill in forms only. Editing limits stop accidental changes, not a determined editor. The password to open is real encryption: Word asks for it before it shows anything.

## See the stack

The left side shows a page for each copy, with the document's title, the person's name and the last two characters of their password. Once the copies are locked, click a page to open it in Word.

## The old way still works

Add no one, type a password or click Suggest, and you get one locked copy, just as before. Documents you locked with an earlier version still open with their password. Lost the need for a password? Remove a password saves an unlocked copy of any document you know the password to.

## Your original is safe

The document you start from is never changed. Copies are saved beside it, or in a folder you choose each time.

Everything happens on your PC. There is no account, and nothing is uploaded.
