Turn the big knob to tune, or double-click the frequency and type the number you want, such as 440 or 1.2k. The arrow keys fine-tune, and the mouse wheel moves a semitone at a time. Click the screen or press Play to start and stop the tone. ## Four wave shapes Choose a sine, square, sawtooth or triangle wave. The oscilloscope screen draws the wave you are hearing, so you can see the shape change as you tune. ## Left, right or both Send the tone to the left speaker, the right speaker or both, and set the volume from 1% to 100%. Handy for checking that each speaker works and is wired the right way round. ## Sweep the range A sweep glides from one frequency to another over 1 to 300 seconds, on a log or linear curve, once or on a loop. Sweep from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz to hear where a subwoofer fades out or where a speaker starts to buzz. The screen and the readout follow the sweep as it plays. ## Binaural beats Set a base tone and a difference of 0.1 to 1,000 Hz. The left ear hears the base tone and the right ear hears it plus the difference. Binaural beats need headphones, so each ear hears only its own tone. ## Hearing test A slow tone rises from 2,000 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Click the moment you stop hearing it. A second pass falls from 250 Hz to find your low end. The app keeps your highest and lowest results. The test volume is capped low, and your result depends on your speakers or headphones as much as your ears. ## Save as WAV Save any tone or binaural beat as a WAV file up to five minutes long, or save a sweep at its full length. The file is made from the same sound you hear. Everything happens on this PC.
