Walkie Talkie Mic
Talk like a two-way radio: hold a key or a mouse button to key the microphone, and let go to go back on standby. Walkie Talkie Mic mutes the microphone itself, so it works in every app at once, from Discord and Teams to a game with no push to talk of its own. Any key, a combination or a side mouse button, a release delay so your last word gets through, and a TX light in the corner of your screen.
Hold the key to transmit, and let go to go back on standby.

About Walkie Talkie Mic
Most voice apps have push to talk. Most of them only for themselves.
Walkie Talkie Mic works the way a two-way radio does. Hold the talk key and you are transmitting; let go and you are back on standby. It mutes the microphone at the Windows level, so the call, the game, the stream and the recorder all hear you only while the key is down.
Three ways to key it
Push to talk keeps you muted and opens the microphone while you hold the key. It is muted from the moment the app starts, so there is no stretch at the start of a call where you are live without knowing.
Push to mute is the other way round. You are live, and holding the key silences you for a cough, a sneeze or a word with someone in the room.
Toggle turns each tap into on or off, for longer stretches of talking.
Any key, or a mouse button
Click Change key under the radio and press the one you want: a single key, a combination with Ctrl, Alt or Win, or a Shift, Ctrl or Alt key on its own. Or click the middle, back or forward button on your mouse, which keeps your keyboard free for the game. The key is still passed on to whatever you are using, and the app tells you when the one you picked also types.
Your last Word gets through
A release delay of up to one second keeps the channel open a moment after you let go, so the end of a sentence is not clipped. Press again inside it and the channel simply stays open.
Know when you are on the air
The window is built around a handset. Its display reads TX in cobalt while you are transmitting and STBY when you are not, names the microphone it is keyed to, and shows your level as signal bars. You can hold its side key with the mouse, too.
With the window closed, a small TX light sits in the corner of the screen you are using, in whichever corner you choose, and clicks go straight through it. It can show STBY while you are muted as well. A soft click as you key up and a roger beep as you let go tell you the same thing without looking.
It gives your microphone back
Pause it from the notification area, or quit, and the microphone goes back to how the app found it. And if a program running as administrator or a sign-in prompt swallows the moment you let go, Walkie Talkie Mic checks and closes the microphone rather than leaving it live.
Where it lives
In the notification area, where the icon lights up while you transmit. Pick the microphone or let it follow the Windows default, set the input volume, start it with Windows, and it follows your light or dark theme.
Everything happens on this PC. No account is needed, nothing is uploaded unless you turn on backup, and it works with no connection at all.
