Evlar Rap Studio

Evlar Rap Studio is a recording studio for rap, already set up when you open it. Pick a beat, arm a track, press R and record your verse.

The beat store is built in: 19 rap beats in G-funk, East Coast, trap, drill, R&B and lo-fi, two of them free and the rest with Studio Plus. Preview any beat before you add it, and the session takes its tempo and key. To rap over your own beat, import an MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC or OGG file and the tempo and key are detected for you.

Every vocal track runs Vocal Chain Basic: Pitch Lock, de-essing, compression, presence, doubling and reverb. Pitch Lock snaps your notes to the beat's own key, so you never pick a scale. Start from one of four presets, West Coast Clean, Hard Tune, Phone Line or Stadium, and turn a knob if you want to move it. Switch on monitoring to hear yourself through the chain while you record.

Loop a section and keep recording. Every pass is kept: the last one plays, and the others wait under the track as alternates you can swap in. Cut, copy, split, duplicate, fade and move clips, and drop section markers on your verses and hooks. Record on three tracks free, or as many as the song needs with Studio Plus. Nine ad-lib slots hold short shouts you record once and drop anywhere, on an ad-lib track of their own.

The lyrics pad sits beside the timeline, counts your bars and colors your rhymes. With Studio Plus, Turn into lyrics writes a freestyle take into the pad as a draft, one line per bar, and the Lyric Prompter rolls your bars with the playhead so you can record with your head up.

Click the phone button in the studio and scan the code with your phone's camera, and your phone becomes a remote you take into the booth. Play, stop and back to the start run the beat, and the section buttons jump to your markers. With Studio Plus, a big record key starts and stops a take on the armed track, just like pressing R, Run it back records again from where the last take started, Scrap throws a take away, and you set your headphone mix from the phone. Your lyrics are on the phone too, and they follow the beat line by line when they were timed from a take or sit under section headings that match your markers. There is no app to install, no account and no sign-up. Your phone talks straight to your PC over an encrypted connection.

135 sound effects, 28 of them free: air horns, sirens, risers, tape stops, impacts, scratches and crowds. Link a folder of your own samples and it shows up under My sounds.

Mixer, Space and Vocal Chain Basic come installed, and the plugin store has more. Every plugin says what it can reach before you install it, and none of them writes to your session, so removing one leaves your song as it was.

Export the mix as an MP3 up to 320 kbps. Studio Plus adds WAV up to 32-bit float, FLAC and stems. A session saves as one .rapstudio file with every track, take and lyric inside.

Evlar Rap Studio is one of three Evlar studios, each a separate app in the Microsoft Store. Evlar Beat Maker Studio makes the beat, Rap Studio records the verse, and Evlar Mastering Studio makes the song ready to release.

The arrow beside Export mix sends your mix to Mastering Studio or your vocals to Beat Maker Studio. A beat sent here from Beat Maker Studio lands on your tracks and stays linked: save the beat again there, and your session gets the new version. If a studio isn't installed yet, what you sent waits for it.

The app is free for personal use, with three tracks, two beats and 28 sound effects. Evlar Studio Plus opens every beat and sound effect, unlimited tracks, WAV, FLAC and stem export, Turn into lyrics and every plugin, and it licenses your songs for commercial release. It comes monthly, yearly or as a one-time lifetime purchase, and one plan unlocks Rap Studio, Beat Maker Studio and Mastering Studio together for the same Microsoft account. An account is optional; sign in once and the other studios on the same PC are signed in too.
